I would like to know if tides are different in the summer than the winter

There are very minimal differences in the tides due to the distance between the Earth and the Sun ( we are closer to the Sun during winter in the Northern Hemisphere, so tidal influece is very slightly higher at spring tides.)  But you will also see more influence storm surges during the winter--those are not tides, but they do raise the level of seawater at times!
