Paul,  I inheredited a "Jason rotary powered 540" telescope.  What can you tell me about this item and where can I get an instruction manual?

What you have here is a simple refractor telescope that was made for the masses.  I don't have the owner's manual for this scope, but I would suggest that you consult this wonderful webpage, which tells you everything you need to know about the scope--including how to make it a lot better:

These scopes had quite a few little problems that make them frustrating to use.  BUt the webpage will tell you have to fix them all!
