Question
I just purchased a new sky Watcher 120 x 600 and when viewing the planets through my 45 degree. I have a vertical line running through the center.

Very green first telescope

Answer
Bob, I live in the city, and the light from all the buildings is so strong that I can hardly ever see any stars.  I almost never use my telescope anymore... very depressing.  Tom Whiting and Paul Wagner are the best people on this service for telescope questions.  I always refer people to them.

Expertise

I am not a professional astronomer by any means, but astronomy has been an interest of mine since childhood, and I am well-informed on the subject. If unable to answer someone`s question personally, I will know how to quickly find the answer online, because I keep myself informed about developments in the field and I know where to look for information.

Experience

I worked in an observatory for awhile at one point, doing various interesting things with a computer.
