Astronomy/Jupiter

Question
QUESTION: Dear Professor;
With the use of special filters, Astronomers can observe Jupiter from Earth for 2 or 3 days during ALL 12 months of the year.  The 2009 World Almanac and Yerks Or Keck observatories can confirm dates and times of observations. If our solar system is allegedly circumnavigating the Sun, how could observations be possible during the four month period when the Earth & Jupiter are on opposite sides of the Sun from each other(180 degrees)? The ephemeral rule does not apply to actual observations. Does www.aptheory.info answer this question? The web site posists the solar winds, not quantum gravity (disproved in 1956) are the source propelling our solar system in front of the Sun and presents a different heliocentric model than Galileo's. Newtonian gravity (not quantum) is proven and referenced but does not satisfactorily explain these observations. The arc in which the two planets travel also does not explain the Sun's obstruction during this four month period.  Please explain.
The logical explanation for Jupiter's observation 12 months per year is www.aptheory.info.  Do you agree? Please comment.
Respectfully,        A. Pettolino, Author   AP Theory

ANSWER: First of all, the planet DO orbit the SUn.  Not allegedly, but they do.

As far as viewing the planets, when Jupiter is at opposition, it rises as the SUn sets and is easily visible for a good many months.

Quantum physich has nothing to do with the visibility of the planets.

QUESTION: Has our solar system ever been proven to circumnavagate the Sun? Where can scientific proof be found?

Answer
Uhhhhhhhhhh, scientific proof was found as far back as Galileo and Kepler.  The fact that Mercury and Venus go through phases, can ONLY happen if the planets revolve around the Sun.  Also, due to the fact that planet positions can be calculated mathematically and then actually seen in those EXACT positions visually, can ONLY happen if the Planets orbit the Sun. So the planets orbiting the Sun was PROVEN back in 1609/1610.

Expertise

As a space science educator in a planetarium, my work centers around teaching people about the night sky and the solar system. I have a strong background in those areas, plus the history of NASA and spaceflight, and meteorology.

Experience

Experience in the area. I have been an amateur astronomer for 47 years, and have been teachng space science in planetariums for 34 years. For 15 years I was a radio and television meteorologist, and for the past 20 years I have been a space science writer for two newspapers in New York State. I am a member of the Middle Atlantic Planetarium Society and the International Planetarium Society. I have had a number of articles published in several astronomy journals, including "The Constellation" and the "Planetarian". Education/Credentials. I hold a B. S. from Wagner College and an M. S. from State University of New York at Oswego. Awards and Honors. I have been awarded the "Fellows" award from the International Planetarium Society for more than 20 years of continuous service in the planetarium field.
