Question
what is the large star in the western sky over southern Ontario between 2130 hours and 2230 hours. It is very bright and appears to have a green ring around it? Theresa
Theresa, I am really sorry to be so late. I should have told AllExperts I was on vacation. I am pure evil. I have no excuse to live.
I think it was probably Jupiter. The green ring sounds wrong, though. Are you sure about that?? Look at this website, and try to get your bearings. I hope the link does the right thing.

| Comment | Hi Ed: Everyone deserves a vacation. i saw a meteor land (crash) in the field behind my house on Friday night. It was really something. It looked something like fireworks. It had white sparks coming off it, and the ball at the front extinguished just before it hit the ground. I am rather ignorant when it comes to astronomy but this was really something! Too close to my house for comfort. Thank you for answering my question. Theresa | ||
