Astronomy/Energy

Question
What is energy ? Please explain it in brief because i am too much confused about it. Give me answer beside from regular definition.

Answer
Energy is a measurement of the quantity of radiation given off by some form of activity, usually molecular motion. This can include chemical activity, like oxidation, and also fusion activity like the core of the sun.
At the time of the Big Bang, there was lots of energy (heat, light,
radio, UV, X-rays, and gamma rays).
When the Universe eventually drops to absolute zero, then there will
be zero energy (no activity).
Energy is sometimes thought to be associated with temperature, but
that is not always the case. The tip of a lit cigarette is the same temperature as a campfire, but only the latter will keep you warm
because it has far more energy than a lit cigarette tip. So temperature is just the measurement of the speed of the molecules and atoms, whereas energy is a measurement of the total output of radiation.
Hope this helps,
Clear Skies,
Tom

Astronomy has been my hobby/pasttime for over 50 years.  Currently own 3 telescopes, the largest of which is a 30 inch Newtonian truss Dob that is portable.I taught Astronomy/Meteorology at the University Level for 13 years before retiring in 1995. Being retired and home most of the time, I am able to answer all questions relatively quickly, unless it's a new moon weekend with good observing conditions.  No astrology questions please, or questions about alleged UFO picture identifications.
