Question
A solar system, made up of planets and, at least, one star, exists with other solar systems in a galaxy and galaxies make up the universe, so would it not make sense that the universe is just one of many other universes in a much larger system, say a mega-verse, and that mega-verse is part of yet a larger system, and so on, to infinity; in a sort of fractal system?

Answer
Hello,

Of course, the fact that there are multiple solar systems has nothing to do (logically or otherwise) with the conjecture of multiple universes (what we call multiple universe theory). So, it's basically invoking a non sequitur.

That said, the multiverse has grown as a valid concept, and one of the first proposals for it was made in David Deutsch's 'The Fabric Of Reality' which you may wish to read. In addition, the new book 'Grand Design" by Stephen Hawking and L. Mlodnow is based on the thesis of multiple universes (and M-theory, an extension of string theory but pertaining to branes).

I suggest you may wish to read both of these books to gain in depth insights.
