Question
Dear Paul

Can we capture Rainbow Images using both a Telescope and Digital Camera?

Thanks
Prashant

Answer
Hi Prashant

If you can connect a digital camera to your telescope (you usually need a special attachment for this) you can take photos through the telescope.  But unless it is a small telescope with a very large field of view and low magnification, you will only be able to see a very small part of the rainbow in the shot.  You certainly won't see the whole rainbow, and the part  you see may not be very interesting, because it won't contrast with the other colors and parts of the rainbow that are outside your field of view.

The best photos of rainbows are usually those that capture a really large segment of the colors and the arc.
