Astronomy/Earth's Days

Question
If the earth stopped revolving around the Sun would the days get longer or shorter?

Answer
Hi Maddy,
One would find the length of the day (at any given latitude) would become permenanently "fixed"!

There would be associated "complications".
The monsoon would soon catch up with the place where the sun shone directly overhead at mid-day, and that would be the new "equatorial" zone for the earth for ever!

However, such a thing could never be possible, as if the "revolving" stopped, the earth would plunge sunwards due to loss of kinetic energy.
