Astronomy/Hypothesis on the expansion of the universe

Question Hey I just had a hypothesis on the expansion of the universe I and wanted to know what you thought of it. I was thinking about it and it hit me, every thing in nature goes from a higher concentration to a lower concentration. Electricity, Energy, you name it. So, if there was "nothing" outside of our universe, wouldn't it make sense for something (our universe) to go towards a lower concentration (nothing)?
AnswerHi Michael !
Join the "freethinkers club"!
I am one of the dreamers associated with it!
What i like about people like you is that you come out with stuff without being shy about it.
Nothing like self driven thinking...one in a million then has a chanve of hitting upon something REAL & REVOLUTIONARY as that clerk in europe named Einstien!
Coming to your theory,
There is something you escaped!
when one says "universe can and will expand to this low concentration "NOTHING"...one forgets it is space (volume occupying nothingness) that one is referrring to..as being available for expansion..for the universe.
But by its very definition, the universe "includes" everything there is! including that "NOTHINGESS" ..outside that you are referring to.
There lies the contradiction in your theory.
If such space were "available", by definition it would be already part of the existing universe!
The problem is ..most people (including me ofcourse) cannot visualise this scene...of what lies beyond!
The definition of the NULL set comes close to defining IT.
Or the hindu concept of "IT" as something utterly lacking in attributes of any kind that "people know of", something that like the null set is s subset of all sets ..(all pervading)..and that pervades and extends beyond..the known universe .."by a measure of 10 fingers" ...meaning substantially!
That "it" is GOD ..the ultimate genderless timeless reality the hindus name as brahman or vsihnu or mahesha..
AN ATTRIBUTELESS INDESCRIBABLE "IT" referred to as "hiranya-garbha" in the RIG-VEDA ..(meaning one that conceals or encompasses light or one that has light in its womb...something "undifferentiated from the mind matter of god" that people identify with "mahat" a state unknown to us).
