How does the earth's Magnectic Field work?

Samson,
Ask your science teache at school if you can fool around with a magnet and some iron filings.  There's a strong chance that your school will have stuff like that in the lab.  You can see th patterns that will form in the iron filings, due o lines of force.  The Earth's magnetic fiels is exactly the same.
