Question
What fuel is used in rockets that go in outer space?

Are shoting stars dangerous to earth?

Answer
Naina,
I'm not an engineer or chemist, but usually rocket fuel is made up of liquid oxygen, nitrogen tetroxide, and hydrogen peroxide.  Scroll down on this link, to the section on liquid propellants.

As for your second question, the answer is usually no, but every now and then we get slammed by a "shooting star" which hits the Earth.  They do an incredible amount of damage.  Basically, shooting stars are just rocks or grains of sand in space.  They are usually tiny, but they can be any size.  Really big ones can be the size of a mountain.  So, yes, sometimes they are dangerous.

Expertise

I am not a professional astronomer by any means, but astronomy has been an interest of mine since childhood, and I am well-informed on the subject. If unable to answer someone`s question personally, I will know how to quickly find the answer online, because I keep myself informed about developments in the field and I know where to look for information.

Experience

I worked in an observatory for awhile at one point, doing various interesting things with a computer.
