Hi Damara,
Scientists study following in space.
1 - How did the universe start?
2 - How will the universe end?
3 - How large is the universe?
4 - Where are we (solar system) headed?
5 - How are stars born?
6 - How do stars die?
7 - How are planets formed?
8 - Is there life out there?
9 - How many planets does the sun have?
10 - What are black holes?
11 - What are the unexplained distant and powerful objects named "quasars"?
12 - How were the basic elements formed?
That was just a short list of what scientists study in space.
