thanks mr scientist-

-Cosmological decade 38 begins the black-hole era. Black holes feast on material sucked in from nearby and grow larger. This continues for about 60 cosmological decades. WHEN DOES THIS BEGIN??

can black holes enter our galaxy?
so whenever a star dies it becomes a black hole?
do black holes travel? if they do will one come an eat earth?
if a star in the sky turned into a black hole would it consume earth.

are there big enough black holes to consume earth or the galaxy?

will any black hole form or come into contact with the earth to consume it?

are there any big enought to consume earth or a galaxy?

whats the probabilty of earth and our galaxy getting sucked into one?

The supermassive black hole anchors a galaxy called RX J1242-11. It is about 700 million light-years away. The star was about the size of our Sun. It was ripped to shreds over hours or days. what does anchors mean in this paragraph

i had a few questions and hope you can answer them:)

Will the black hole at the center of the Milky Way eventually eat all the matter in our galaxy?

whats the probabilty of earth and our galaxy getting sucked into one?

are there any in other galaxy's?in ours
do black holes ever die?
can a smaller black hole eat bigger things
how long does it take bh to form
if there is one in our galaxy why hasnt it sucked the galaxy or earth into it yet?

how many known blackholes are there?how many in our galaxy?

do blackholes move around?does our galaxy?

can a blackhole formed be big enough to suck in our galaxy?earth?universe?

blackholes move around?dpes our galaxy?

can one enter our galaxy?

how long is the formation of a black hole?

is there won in our galaxy?

will a blackhole ever suck in our galaxy?earth?in this life time? ever?

Hi Jocelyn!
Hope you arent pulling my leg here!
1 - No the black hole in centers of spiral galaxies, do not end up eating them up. This is because at greater distances from the galactic hub, their attracting force is greately diminished. (almost nil).

2 - Black holes take a long time to die.

3 - Smaller holes can eat bigger things (like stars) by sucking away material by skimming action and pulling it in.
(Cygnus x-1) is a case such as this.

4 - The hole forms only when a huge star ends it's life. ie in a few 10s or 100's of million years.

5 - There could be any number in any given galaxy.

6 - Yes they could move around just as stars move around in galaxies.

many of your questions were duplicated so i answered them as one.

Jocelyn!
I think i answered all those questions in my first answer!
basically i answered all your questions.
I am really at a loss how else to answer your questions.
so i think you will have to excuse me on this.
it has been great answering your questions, trust me.
Jayen.

Answer
Jocelyn!
Your persistent questions are bothering me a bit! :)
Hope you are serious here.
Jocelyn, such a chance is very very slim.
Because these holes are dispersed far and wide (literally 100s of light years between any 2 candidates).
I am sorry but with this, i have to humbly request you to drop further questions along this line as these are becoming a bit repetetive.
hope you understand.
