Astronomy/the moon

Question
what would happen to the Earth if there was no longer a moon?

Answer
Well, in the first place if there wasn't a moon we wouldn't be here (as it was the moon's influence on Earth that made it what it is today).

As to what would happen if it vanished, the most immediate effect would be no tides, followed by no eclipses
