Question
What was the first rocket to have ever been launched

Answer
Hi Hema!
I think it was wang or chang who first did it.
(joking).
But truly the credit for the first rockets goes to the chinese who also invented gun-powder!

The mughals brought rocketry to india with them, and tipu sultan effectively used them against british cavalry in the battle of seringa-pattinam.

The british were suitably impressed and commisioned william congreve to look into the matter.

They soon perfected these and used them against the french!
Rockets were usd in teh american battle for independence, ans so the sentence "the rockets red glare" came to be in their national anthem!
