Question
hi,
how come the sun who is so massive can be covered by moon who is so tiny?
why is solar or lunar eclipse seen only in few places?
thanks

Answer
Prespective!

The sun has a diameter of 1.39 million km and is 149.6 million km from Earth. The moon has a diameter of 3,476km (400 times smaller) and is 384,400km from Earth (390 times nearer). Therefore when they line up the moon looks almost the same size as the Sun!
