Question
How many sun's are in our galaxy, and are sun's and star's the same thing?

Answer
Hi,
James, Galaxies are really LARGE objects!
The milky way has close to 100 billion stars, and each star IS a SUN.
(except for a type of star called brown dwarf, whcih is so "cool" that it is brown or rather glows brightly in the infrared!)
And then there are black holes that are remnants of stars much more massive than the sun.
In the hearts of spiral and elliptical galaxies are monster black holes with million solar masses.
Aptly did Asimov name one of his novels "the stars like dust"..if my memory sevres me right that is...
