Astronomy/sun setting in MN

Question
Hi, I was reading other questions that you've answered and it makes me want to know about  Minnesota.  I am trying to plan a wedding this October 27,2007 and I can't find any resources that tell me the time of the sunset or weather.  I saw you used skyglobe to answer a simillar question.  Could you tell me about the time of the sunset in Stillwater, MN on 10/27/07?  Also, how does daylight savings time work with that?  Could you touch a little on daylight savings time as well?

Thanks!!!!

Answer
Hi Carlotta,
Sorry for the slow response but this website accidently eliminated me from their site back in February 07 and I just caught on to it a few days ago....I'm still not receiving messages from questioners as yet....hopefully, they can fix the problem soon.
Ok, yes, daylight savings time would still be in effect until
November 4th this year, thanks to our stupid Congress.
(Us astronomers hate DST...daylight "stupid" time, as it makes us wait an extra hour for total darkness...that's a pain.)
My skyglobe program for St. Paul gives right around 6:15 pm
sunset for Central Daylight time on Oct. 27, plus or minus 3 minutes.
As far as weather, you can only know that about 5-7 days
ahead of time off the Weather Channel, and even then, it's
only about 70% accurate that far out (7 days).
Hope all this helps,
Clear skies,
Tom Whiting
