Question
Sir,
I have done my B-tech in mining eng. and i have a great interest in astrophysics.I would like to do MS in this subject ,so can you list me what are all the options i have.

Answer
Astrophysics is an easy subject to read a lot of popular literature about but a very, very difficult subject for serious study.  There's no easy way around taking a bachelor's degree in physics before you go on to an advanced degree.  At least those years worth of classes.  If you study enough then the major exam you have to pass is the physics GRE.  A good score on the physics GRE can get you into a program, that's really the acid test that you have to pass to get into such a program.

Expertise

Fusion, solar flares, cosmic rays, radiation in space, and stellar physics questions. Generally, nuclear-related astrophysics, but I can usually point you in the right direction if it's not nuclear-related or if it's nuclear but not astrophysics.

Experience

Currently a physics professor at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Doctoral dissertation was on a reaction in CNO-cycle fusion, worked in gamma-ray astronomy in the space science division of the naval research laboratory in the high-energy space environment branch.

Organizations
Physics professor at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

Education/Credentials
Ph.D. in physics, research was on nuclear fusion reactions important in stellar fusion.
