Question
what do you know about the new planet x?

Answer
Hi Amal,

You're probably referring to the discovery in April of an "earth-like" planet about 20 light-years away.  More details can be found at http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/25/science/space/25planet.html?ex=1335153600&en=6...

Although this was the first "earth-like" planet found orbiting a distant star, it's thought to be not that unusual.  Planetary formation is thought to be a normal part of star formation, and the majority of stars have planets - some larger, some smaller, some hotter, some colder than earth.  But many stars could have "earth-like" planets - they're just very difficult to see!

Hope that helps.
