Atheism/existence of God

Question
How can we know for sure that there is no God? Or is there a slight possibility that there is something out there?

Answer
To make a long answer short, we can be sure there is not a personal God as proposed by monotheistic religion because there is no Godly order to our everyday existence that would suggest a God is at work. In other words, bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people all the time. At least, if there is this God they refer to, He doesn't do anything any ways and making any fuss over Him or praying to Him is useless. But to me, it's logic enough to know 100% He doesn't exist.

I would be more supportive of a polytheistic religion where chaos and disorder would be easier to accept. I'm 99% sure there aren't many gods controlling the Universe.

And finally, we don't know if there is "something" out there of a higher order. Probably not with god-like powers but more realistic, not like us, and not able to hear prayers. Maybe an energy force capable of spawning Universes. Who knows? I'm 98% sure there isn't some creative force beyond our comprehension that started all this but isn't conscience to our existence.

So there is the possibility of a slight probability of some "force" out there, but probably not a God as man has invented. Remember, compared to the dinosaur man has been here a very short period of time. One big extinction event and we're out of here, just as quickly too. We are truly a freak of nature, like spores in a grassy field, nothing special, just more aware.

Gods were created by men in mans image so that man could have godly powers over other men.

Experience

Raised Southern Baptist (Oklahoma), three times weekly including bible study. At age 39 I thought I wanted to be a better Christian and make God a priority and center of my life; until I actually got serious with the study and realized that all this God business was actually just a business. Then I picked up all the other religions for comparison and studied theology as a whole in order to understand religion as a whole. Since then I have thrown out my respect for religious organizations and the dishonest people who run them. I am not militant against religion and feel that personal and private spritiuality is a human right. I'm 100% sure there is no master of the Universe concerned with our daily existance but hold reserve about where everything came from; I don't know but at least science doesn't invoke far fetched unbased fantasy. I'm also 100% sure that beyond death there is no consciousness, spiritual or ghostly existance and I bravely accept that my demise will be real.
