Question
How can we be sure that no god exists anywhere in this whole universe. Scientists usually can't tell about something which is beyod their limits. Many areas far from this earth are beyond the limits of science so how can one be so sure that god can't exist in any way and in any form. Also i want you to please give me some logical or any other evidence which cleary proove that god doesn't exist and there is no controller of this universe who writes the destiny of all the living beings

Answer
Dear Axes,

Science has given all the information that it can give and will continue to give that in the future, like evolution theory of how animals progressively changed into modern humans, how the universe came about in a big-bang, and how space-time/energy/sub-atomic particles behave with quantum mechanics. That itself falsifies what is written in the scriptures (hindus too have these creation stories in their scriptures, but not many take it seriously - that humans descended from Daksha Prajapati, Swayambhu Manu or Sage Kashyapa).

Beyond that we need to make our guess. Some people end up by believing in existence of God, some in believing in non-existence of God. Just as you want a proof of non-existence of God, the atheist like me want a proof of existence of God, soul, heaven, hell, karma, rebirth, judgement, salvation/nibbana/moksha, and God's mercy or anger.

Some atheist like me begin with the scientific theories and think that death is nothing more that chemical re-cycling of the constituents of the body. I am a cultural religionist, I am an atheist but still a staunch hindu. I believe that Shiva, Rama, Krishna, and the Mother Goddess were created in my culture so that the stories around them could guide the ethics and morals of my society. They are mainly fictional characters. I go by 'advaita' which accepts existence of energy/space. I think physical energy, like light, electricity, heat, is Brahman; and nothing other than energy exists in the universe. I think that is what made Sankaracharya say 'Brahma Satyam, Jagan-Mithya' (Brahman is the truth, the observed is an illusion). That is why I do not accept the duality of the universe and the God.

Since this is a question and answer forum, we would not be able to discuss things here in detail, but in case you are interested, I invite you to the 'Non-Abrahamic Religions' forum at www.freeration.org for further discussions. With best regards,

Yours sincerely,

Expertise

All, especially about atheism in relation to Hinduism. Brahman in Hinduism is like a quantum field in which all things, space, and time, are constituted.

Experience

Went through all beliefs in Hinduism and Buddhism (polytheism, monotheism, monism, shaivism, vaishnavaism) to arrive at Advaita.
