The burden of proof is on the person making the claim, which in this case is the person who claims that a god exists. Atheism is simply the absence of belief in gods and thus does not make any claims.
Besides, since you don't define "god" it's impossible to know for sure what you think you're asking about and this means it's impossible to say anything about whether it might exist or not. It's a conceptually empty question.
