Atheism/God And Logic.

Question
Hello Austin!

How can one disprove the claim that god created logic, and isn't bound by it?

Sincerely,
Max.

Answer
Shouldn't the primary burden of proof lie with the person making the claim, not the one listening to it?

But if we ignore that issue, then we can also ignore the claim because it reduces belief in "god" to unadulterated nonsense. A god unbounded by logic can both exist and not exist at the same time. It can be both good and evil at the same time. It can promise heaven to its followers but send them to hell - without lying. It can be a single god and a billion gods at the same time.

No doctrines can be based upon this god without every other possible set of doctrines - including sets of logically contradictory doctrines - being equally true.

That's nonsense and not worthy of consideration. People claiming that their god is unbound by logic are attempting to evade being bound by logic themselves. They don't want their statements about their god to be evaluated according to the same basic logical standards that they are willing to apply to everything else. It's a form of special pleading that merits nothing more then derision and mocking.
