Atheism/Understanding Atheists
Expert: Bob - 10/24/2004
QuestionI am asking these questions in an attempt to understand the way atheists think. I would very much appreciate it if you took just a few minutes to answer them. Thanks so much!
1. If you could change places with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
2. Thinking back in your life so far, is there anything you'd go back and do differently?
3. If you could give a piece of advice to a son or daughter, what would this advice be?
4. What would you like to be remembered for after you're gone?
5. Before you die, is there anything really special you want to do?
6. What attributes or characteristics do you value most in life?
AnswerHello Nathan,
As a general rule I do not answer questions of this type, as that I see my role here as one of support to fellow Atheists, In this case however, even though I am pressed for time, and will apologize in advance for their briefness, I will answer yours.
1. I really do not think that I would want to change places with anyone that I can think of. I am sure that I would enjoy Bill Gates money for a time or jet-set around like the owner of Virgin Airlines, but when it came down to it I would still be the same person with the same likes and dislikes, so I guess that I would pass on this one.
2. Like anyone I can easily think of several times that I have made some pretty major mistakes but I do not think, at this point that I would really change that much even if I were to have the chance. I would be afraid that a minor change then would cause a major change now and I would not want to effect my family or several of the good things that I have going on in my life now.
3. Be yourself, be truthful and honest to everyone around you and above all else to yourself.
4. I would like to be remembered for my honesty, my loyalty, and above all else my integrity.
5. There is a large piece of land that my property borders that I would like to turn into an animal reserve.
6. Honestly, integrity, ingenuity, tolerance for others, and hard work.
Well I hope that this has helped. Have a good day.
