Question
I have been having trouble believing in God my whole intire life. I went to church, sunday school and confermation because my parents wanted me to. However, now that I am coming in to my own person, I am not ashamed to say that I dont believe in God. I do however beileve that there is a higher power in the universe, but I cant call it God or another form of a God. I also believe that after dying we will asend to a higher plane of exictence. My question is:  Is what I am believing is agnostic or if it something else? If you could answer my question, I think that I would be less confused and I believe that it would help me know where I should stand in life.  Thanks!

Answer
If what you believe in is something you would call a god, then you are a theist. If not, then you are an atheist.

Agnosticism is a question of knowledge. If you think you know for sure that this being or power exists, then you are not an agnostic. If you can't claim to know for sure, then you are an agnostic.
