Hello Sandi,

Generally Atheist are grouped into one of two groups. We are either considered to be a strong or weak Atheist. A weak Atheist is one the that simply does not believe in the existance of God as where a strong Atheist believes that a god, any god, cannot exist. I know that the terms are close but there is a difference in the two. I personally fall into the strong Atheist or Free Thinker group. Along with Atheists there are also two other groups that you should be aware of, one is an agnostic.
An Agnostic is someone who believes that we do not know for sure whether God exists. Some may state they they believe in the existance in a higher power but do not believe in the form that is generally accepted as God.
The last term is a "Free Thinker"
A freethinker is someone that thinks freely and is generally open to all possibilities. They usually are ready to consider any idea and determine whether it is right or wrong based on reason and scientific fact.
