Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)/mentally restless
Expert: Sharon Crandall - 6/1/2008
QuestionHi Sharon
I am 50.
I was diagnosed with adult ADD when I was 40,and prescribed Welbutrin.
That changed my life.
Four years ago I went off the medication as I felt I could go it alone and it was having some side effects I didnt like.
Just in the last couple years, most of the mental stuff has gone, but I am getting very restless.
I watch TV for 30 minutes then read, then walk around, I am just 'antsy'.
The only time during the day I am not like this is at work,or when I am jogging.
Right now its Saturday night. I jogged this afternoon, and I should be kicking back tonight but I cant.Read the paper, nothing on TV. No hobbies. Dont drink (anymore thank God)
Any sggestions?
AnswerDear Bud,
Yes, I sure do. go to www.neurogenesis-inc.com/58357 and you will find a product called neu beCalm'd. It is great. I highly recommend it. It is nutritional and feeds the brain to hep balance it. Experiment with the dosage until it works for you. Usually, you take more at first and then as time goes on you can take less and less and sometimes after a year or so, you may not need to take it at all, but just keep it on hand for certain times.
Also, assess your likes and dislikes. Assess your talents. If you are restless are you working at a job that "spends" your energy. Edward Jones, founder of Personality Science said that it is important to assess our personality traits that cry out for expression and when we spend them in a positive or creative outlet then the negative side of the traits will not pop out so much. It sounds like you need a creative project--building, designing, drawing, etc. but probably need to do it while you stand, rather than sit--maybe. Without assessing your traits I am guessing a bit but mainly there is some energy that is not being spent.
If you can discover what you can do to spend that energy and take neu beCalm'd then I will bet you can manage very well.
I would love to have feedback. With a little more info I can probably give more help. You are welcome to contact me on myspace and I will write you back and give you my personal/client email.
