Question
I am a university student, and i get pretty good grades...my down fall is my lack of ability to stay focused. I always go to bed or call it quits before i want to.

I read a little bit about child-hood ADHD, and I definately showed some signs. I did well in elementry school...but never did any work..same with high school.

In University, I can not for the life of me pay attention is lecture no matter how hard i try..

that being said, i feel like having ADHD is a real possibility...I am also aware however ritalyn abuse on university campus' is becoming a problem, and i don't know how to address this situation so a Dr. would think i was serious...and not just looking for a prescription.

anyways, my specific question is....what questions do i need to ask myself, or other medical professionals??

Answer
At any age the only question required is, is the situation causing enough problems to warrant a visit to a doctor trained to diagnose and treat ADHD. He will know what questions to ask, what tests to do and how to diagnoase if needed. Once a diagnosis is made he will also know if medication is needed and discuss exactly how to take it. Thereafter he will monitor your progres as required.
