Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)/Is this part of ADD?

Question
I'm 16, and have ADD, I was diagnosed when I was 7.
I used to take Rubefen, but now I don't simply because I ran out and mum never got around to getting me anymore.
My mind is staticy and chatty, and i can't concentrate.
However, my main problem is my irritablity, i'm wondering if it is normal.
Everything annoys me, but most of all, my family.
I can't stand things like how my brother chews disgustingly, or my sisters endless questions. I can't stand my brother in general, because he farts and is disgusting all the time, it makes me hate him cause it irritates me so much. I'm only happy when he's at work. In fact, i'm mainly only happy when I'm alone.

Is this normal?

Answer
Dear Diana,

Thanks for asking me your question.  I am so sorry to hear that you are having difficulty, especially with your family.  The answer to your question is that irritability is common. You might be experiencing some sensory sensitivity.  That is not uncommon, and you may even notice that it changes from week to week according to hormone changes.

I would suggest that you first anticipate some of the sounds that you will hear like your brother chewing.  Also you may benefit from doing exercise - either cardio or toning and stretching.

If you are able to talk to your mother about medication, if it seemed to have helped you, especially with concentrating, I would do it. Maybe she would be willing to see about getting a refill since it seems to be affecting you and not helping your relationships with your family and making you want to isolate.

I do hope my answer has been helpful.

Blessings to you, my dear.
