Question
Hello Doctor. I have not been diagnosed with ADD but my GP prescribed me some Ritalin in 2000 and have been on them ever since, I noticed I could do much more with my life. Organising the house and my work ect. However I have noticed over the years they make my muscles very tense and after about 4 hours I am bushed and need to lay down. I am currently working in England as an aupair. Would it be safe to continue Ritalin and is it avaible in England. Thank you so much for all your answers.

Answer
Ritalin is available in the UK on prescription only.Is is safe as long as it is correctly dose to optimal dose covering at least 12 hours of the day. A doctor should not prescribe without a formal neurological evaluation and monthly scripts and re evaluations  by law.
