Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)/Adult ADD battle with medical aid

Question
Hi Dr Levin,
Certain medical aids won't cover Adult ADD because their consulting doctor doesn't "believe in Adult ADD". Please advise as how one could go about bringing enough evidence together to have a chance to change their policies.

Firstly where in South Africa do you come from and which  med. Aid. Any doctor who does  not accept that  adult ADHD existists speak firmly to him in  a polite manner to convince him. If no success report him to the medical council and the ethics branch of the Medical Association.If he did a little research he would have  more than enough proof. Ignorance is NOT Bliss!
