Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)/Ritalin side effects
Expert: Dr Billy Levin - 3/27/2011
QuestionHi
First of all, sorry about my English. I am not a native speaker and a very poor writer.
I am a 28 years old male and last year I was diagnosed with ADD and put on 20 mg of Ritalin la.
I've never felt so good in my life, was able to focus, had all the energy to get up and do whatever I was supposed, my sleep problem just vanished, my anxiety was gone and above all without side effects.
Then I went on vacation to my parents and stopped taking my medication.
This semester I went back to my doctors office and she put me ritalin again but this time every thing went wrong. My blood pressure is high, heart rate is high, feeling jittery, anxious, dizzy. Just felt like a I was taking a different medicine.
Do you have any idea of what is going on?
Thank you very much
Otto
AnswerWithou examining you I can only suggest. If the Ritalin worked before and no side effects then it will not give you the problems you have now. Something else or other medication is the cause. A` 20mg LA only works for 8 hours. You need a 12 hour cover. Speak to your doctor.
