Question
Hi,
My daughter is 14, she has been told by a dr in C,F,C,S that she could have ADD, she has all the symptoms of ADD, but also has racing thoughts, she has had them for about 4yrs. When reading about Racing thoughts it is connected to Bipolor. A lot of symptoms from Bipolor applies to my daughter but she does not have feelings of sadness or death. she also tells me that she has always got on better with boys than girls, this is because she thinks all girls want to hurt her and is often quiet scared when meeting new girls and groups of girls.  she does have a few girl/friends but not many. I have told all this to her Dr at C,F,C,S who is assesing my daughter, he says that she proberly has ADD, we have an oppointment tomorrow to dicuss Add and medication. Please could you advise me as i just want to get all this sorted out.
kind regards
lisa

Answer
It would be difficult to advise you as I have not examined her. All who have, suggest she might have ADHD. Perhaps my best advice is to see a medical ADHD expert who should be able to diagnose exactly what she has in about a two hour session and advise you fully on medication if it is required. You could educate yourself on the internet. For starters you could try <chadd.com> and/or <adders.org>.From what you describe I would put my money on ADD. Good luck!
