Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)/adhd pragmatics
Expert: Sarah-Jayne Caroline Bass from www.adders.org - 10/27/2007
QuestionWhat valid assessment tool can I request that will assess my son's ability to converse intelligibly with others (pragmatics and fluency). He has an ADHD diagnosis and has had speech/language eval (CELF-R). Fluency and pragmatics are avoided and/or left out in the evals. He has a recent diagnosis of ADHD. Thanks for some insight. The better informed I am the better off my son will be.
Answersorry for the delay in replying but i have only just received notice of any questions put to me
i am afraid however that i am not really aware or sure of any of these type of assessments that you are speaking about as i am not a professional in adhd - i am a parent and adult with adhd
however if you would like to check my main website at
http://www.adders.org and maybe to join our very busy forum boards there you would be able to post a question to our medical expert who may be able to help you further
also things differ throughout the world and as i am based in the UK i would also need to know a bit more about where you are based so that you could perhaps speak to someone from a local support group who would be able to inform you more about services in your particular area
again however on my website above we have details of many support networks throughout the world so if you check out our support group pages then click the country you are in i am sure that a local contact would also be able to help further
once again sorry for the delay in replying
