Question
My 4 yo son was diagnosed with having migrains. He has been having headaches nonstop for the last 2 weeks. He just started Amitriptline which he takes at night, he also takes metoclopram once a day as needed for stomach upset. He has had a bunch of bloodwork, a spinal, catscan and about 8 months ago a mri. He is seeing a nerologist. He also takes Adderall but he has been off it, because all he has not been active at all....what can I do now? Should I be watching for any triggers?

Answer
Obviously, as I have not examined, I can only comment, not advise. I am not in favour of giving 4 year olds Amitryptoline. However Metaclopramide can be given, and half an hour later Partacetamol. Then it  will work for the pain. On it's own is is not very effective. If he has ADHD he should be on his Adderall. If he is not ADHD obviously he does not need it .It is given for activity and attentional deficit, not only for hyperactivity. Most important, there is a spesific diet for migrain.
