Dear Susan,

I really like a guy... and my psychic sense tells me he is the one. but he is acting really cold towards me. I really do not want to give up. Many guys advise me to be cold, stop talking to him and maybe he'll miss me. But I do not think this is working at all. The guy I like is a weird type- he is very intelligent and very egoistic as well. I believe he knows that I like him and... my dilemma is, if i approach him , i am afraid he will get annoyed and hate me. but if i turn away... i do not ever think he will make a move.

Another thing is, he does not know me very well-- he won't give me the chance to show him who i am. I,on the other hand, have substantial understanding about him.

Is there any other option besides giving up?

It's always frustrating when this happens.  I think the guys are giving you good advice, because they know guys.  This guy you are interested in would approach you if he were interested.  Maybe he won't; or maybe he will, with time.  If he comes around, you can certainly be friendly and flirt a little - subtly.  (Read about flirting on wikipedia).  But it never works for the woman to be aggressive about it.  That's up to the guy.

You're smart to ask for other options.  There are always more than two.  So a good option for you is to wait and see.  In the meantime, be open to other guys.  It's not a good habit to get hooked on guys that don't show an interest in you. There are plenty of guys to choose from and you deserve one who returns your interest and attraction.
