How to Attract the Man of Your Dreams/20 and lonely...

Question
I am 20 years old and have never been in love. I've never even had a boyfriend! I have been told that I am attractive and that I must just be too picky.  However I've only been asked out three times in my life and none of them were acceptable canidates.  One a known drug addict, another who thought it wise to approach me in the middle of the night at a gas station! I'm in college and have tried to meet new people but it's hard for me to do.  My friends tell me that sometimes I come off as a bitch or a snob, but I'm just shy and quiet! Do I have to completely change my personality for a guy to ask me out? Help me please!

Answer
Steph,

20 years old is not old to have never been in love.  I bet there are many, many other college students that have never been in love either. your story is quite common.

As for turning down the 3 opportunities you mentioned, it sounds like you did what any girl with high self-esteem would do.  i support your decision not to date a drug addict!

I wasn't exactly sure from your question what it is that you wanted to know.  But, i can tell you that if everyone is giving you the same negative message, and you think there may be some truth to it, then maybe it is worth investigating.  If after you do so, you decide that you want to be friendlier, then  by all means do so.

But, if the way you are now is working for you, then you should remain true to yourself.  There is nothing wrong with being quiet.
