Question
Recently, while taking my car in for some work, I ran into a man I had known when we were growing up. Our parents worked together our whole lives and we were thrown together often until about the age of 18. We're now 35. We spoke for a few minutes, before I had to head off to work. He seemed genuinely glad to see me, and I him. We never had any sort of a relationship as kids, other than friends.  Now, however, I would really like to get together with him.  I'm a divorced single mother and haven't dated in several years. I'm really unsure of how to make this happen.  Of course my first feeling is that he probably wouldn't be interested in going out with me....as that's always my first thought.  However, I'm not bad looking, smart, self sufficient and fairly outgoing.  For some reason he's been on my mind, constantly, since running into him.  I am probably going to see him again, at least one last time, within the next couple of days as I have to go back to the car dealership to pick up a part.  How can I talk to him and see if he's even the slightest bit interested?

Answer
Well just start up a conversation with him and see how it goes.  You could even mention getting together for coffee sometime, and see how he responds.  Don't push, but be open and create a space.
