Question
hi, my name is katie and im in highschool. im a freshmen soon to be sophomore and this special guy is a soph. soon to be junior.i highly doubt that i can actually get him to likke me in return but i thought it was worth a shot...

so, this guy's name is kyle and he is absolutely perfect. He is my best guy friend and i talk to him all the time. i trust him with my life and i know that he trusts me too. i tell him anything and everything and get advice from him also. my two best friends have talked to him before and agree he is perfect for me and is a really nice guy. he is the one and only guy they havent found any issues with...other than the fact we dont live close by. he lives in chicago and i live in grand rapids. our families are close friends and we definately are too. ive known him for almost 4 years now and he still makes me smile just by hearing his voice, recieving a text or phonecall from him, or anything like that.

big problem though. he knows i like him and says that he doesnt like me. when my friend asked him why not, his only reply was i honestly dont know. shes a great girl and all but i just dont like her like that. it crushed me. he does make me cry but when he finds out somehow he immediately says hes sorry calls me to check up on me and makes sure im alright. hes really into his sports and we root for opposing teams all the time. hes got his expensive taste just like me and is a really fun loving guy. i reallly want to make him mine somehow, but dont know how.

PLEASE HELP ME.

Answer
Hello Katie!

I'm in the reality business Katie, and the reality is this: how are you ever going to work any charm on him when he's in Chicago and you're in Grand Rapids? Answer: you can't.

What's particularly tragic about this is that you're missing some other really great guys that you CAN have a real relationship with! All the time and energy you're putting into him could be better used finding an equally-incredible guy right there in your own backyard.

If you ever had a chance to turn this around, it would take actually being with him regularly. Emails, phone calls and texts just aren't going to cut it.

Sorry, but I'd rather give you the reality than false hopes.

Best regards...
