Question
How do I get a boyfriend? I am 17 years old and I have NEVER had a bf. Why is this? I asked this one guy out through a love letter around Christmas, but he never replied back. I guess he does not like me. I always get SO embarassed around him now. How do I stop feeling embarassed around him?

Answer
Doesn't really work to ask guys out ... the 'embarassment' can remind you that it doesn't work well, so don't do it.  Let them come to you.  Sooner or later you will have a date, don't worry about it.  If you need to brush up on your social skills or would like some coaching on this, email me at sdunn@susandunn.cc . (It takes a while, not just a note here.)  Remember the guys are shy and awkward to, so concentrate on making them feel at ease and you'll forget some of your own nerves.  Mostly try to have fun, and don't take it hard if you're rejected - everyone is.  Just move on.  A 'love letter' before a date, is "too much too soon."  Just work at getting to know them, being friendly and having a good time.
You will have a date!!
