My ex-husband and I were married in 2002.  Last year in July his mother died unexpectantly - they were VERY close. Two weeks later I lost my job where I made double what he made.  Three weeks later my husband announced he wanted a divorce.  We had one major argument the whole 6 years we were married.  He started seeing a girl and in Jan - she found out she was pregnant.  They were married in May but according to my attorney it is not legal becuause he did not wait for the 60 day waiting period, he only waited 7 days after the judge signed the papers.  He says he left becuase he could not handle it anymore.  His family says he only married this girl becuase she is pregnant. I have spoken with him several times in the last month and he has not told me he is remarried or that he has a baby coming.  I would give anything to have him back and I am willing to forgive his affair.  I could love the baby and take care of her because she is a piece of him.  My question is - what are the odds of a "marriage of convienence lasting"?  I have told him I still love him.  He has also told his friends and family that he did not leave because he did not love me.  He loves me but became overwhelmed with everything. What are your thoughts?

I'm sorry this has all happened.  Marriages can take a toll when many crises happen at once.

My thoughts are - if you still want him back, keep the lines of communication open and see what happens.  If you were to get him back/take him back, I hope he handles problems better in the future.  I guess you see this as totally out of character for him and that his previous behavior in the marriage is worth giving this a second chance.

I wouldn't be cable to call the odds on this one.  What the lawyer said is interesting.  Wait it out and see what happens.
