How to Attract the Man of Your Dreams/What Should I Do?

Question
Hey Susan!

There is this very good-looking guy that I see occasionally while I'm at school. I don't know him and he doesn't know me, but we are friends on Facebook. Even though I don't know him, I want to get to know him better, but I don't know how to approach him. I'm a very shy girl. When I see him in the halls, what should I say?

Thanks,

Brittainy

Answer
Dear Brittainy,

Well, this is a good time for you to work on your social skills to learn how to get around being "shy."  If you see him in the hall, just say "hi", then ask him something about himself or about what's going on.  Just like you would with someone else -- what class do you have now?  do you like the rain?  Have you see ____ movie?

Working on meeting people and social skills will help you in all areas of your life.  I know it makes you nervous, but just focus on the other person.  Ask him things you'd ask someone to ask you.  People like to talk about themselves.  Keep it light, and short and sweet.  If he's interested, he'll move it along.

You could talk about facebook ...

All the best,
