How to Attract the Man of Your Dreams/Where do I start?

Question
Okay. We're both twenty and in college. I don't know him very well, but we always say hi and make small talk when we see each other. How do I get his attention without being annoying or rude? I've messed this up so many times...boys I've liked have called me needy and clingy because I easily become obsessed and want to spend all my time with them. Needless to say, I've never had a boyfriend. I really DON'T want to get obsessed this time, but I also don't want to come across as being cold or stuck-up. I can be shy around people I don't know well, and my friends tell me that my shyness is intimidating. I'm scared of messing up this relationship the way I've always messed up my relationships with guys. Where do I start with getting to know him better? How can I do this without him thinking that I'm "just a friend?" Your advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Dear Liz,
First of all, try and relax.  I know it's hard ...
You have a great opportunity there where you can be around him, so just keep being friendly when he comes around and see what happens.  There's no guy in the world too shy (or anything else) to make a move if he's interested.  You don't need to do anything, just wait and see if it progresses.  Guys know how to do this, girls don't!

All the best,
