Question
QUESTION: Hello.

I worked with someone for a week, whom i found to be attractive and at the end of the week I decided to give him my number and stated if he wanted to meet for a drink or coffee sometime to call me. I have never done this before and i'm not sure if I over stepped.
I was told by other male friends that if he doesn't call yo uwithin the first 3 days he isn't going to call you at all. Is this true? As I said this isn't something I have done before, so I DO not know what to think it as been 5days now.

ANSWER: Hello Kattie!

Overstepped? Absolutely not! If he wanted to contact you, how in the hell else could he do it?

This isn't simply a logistics problem by the way. You'd be surprised (shocked maybe) at how few guys know how to even ask for digits! Many of the guys that write to me are so worried about whether a girl is even interested. The definitely lack any more "advanced" skills.

At least you did something to let him know you'd like to see what else could be there. In fact, I'm damned proud of you! Do you have any idea how few of your girlfriends would have the courage to do that?

No, I'm afraid your male friends are wrong here. Three days may seem like a long time to you - after all, think about how long that is in "girl-years"! ;) but I'd be thinking more in terms of 1-2 weeks. He's probably going to need that much time just to figure out what to say to you!

Trust me, if he knew how to ask you for your number, he'd also know how to call and move this forward. I'd give him some more time.

QUESTION: Hi Dennis.

In saying that I might of overstepped,I was thinking this because of his job and how we met. Well he didn't ask for my number, I gave it to him. Or should say maybe shocked him by doing so. I know he isn't married as he did state he wasn't. However I didn't ask if he was involved with someone. I'm hoping not and also hope your right and he will call in 1 or 2.

ANSWER: Hello again Kattie!

I hope he calls too. Frankly, he'd be an idiot not to!
