Question
I am 22 and recently came out of a two year relationship with a guy that I really cared about (apparently he didn't care all that much about me... I kind of felt it coming, but that's besides the point).  I've only really been in two relationships, and I have never been on a "date".  My boyfriends just turned from friends straight into boyfriend with no in between, I suppose just the typical high school scenario.  Now that I'm a tad older, I'd like to shop around a bit before I get into a relationship, but I'm not real sure how.  I'm terribly awkward in club or bar settings, and I just don't really know where to go to meet nice guys who aren't creepy or slutty.  Where do I start?  I'm kind of excited to try the dating thing!  Thanks so much <3

Don't pal around with them too much ... let them ask you
for a date.  Otherwise, you're "busy" and smile.  :-)

The best way to meet guys is in the nornal course of events.  But you may want to expand it a bit.  Like in the workplace, where you go to work out or do hobbies (like SCUBA), book stores, religious institutions, chamber of commerce, rotary, singles clubs, interest clubs (opera, Italian club, nature club).  If you go where you like to go, but expand it a little, then you'll meet nice men who may have the same interests.  This makes conversation easy too.  

You have to kind of encourage them to ask you on a real date (though the good ones will!) by refusing to "let's go get a drink" for things.  You will know their intentions better if you set it up for dating and go slowly.
