Question
i know its wrong to want a boyfriend because everyone else has one but I'm desperate to have one. i think its more to do with me being shy rather than my looks, I've been asked out about 1 or 2 times this year (moved here this year)but have been to shy to say yes incase its a joke. there has been 2 boys that i really like. the first is a guy called Blake but he doesn't seem to like me and hes going out with someone at the moment. he skate boards, surfs and is so hot with the best manners (hes 1 year older). the other is ben and i new him till i was 4 till i moved. now I've moved back and were the same age, going to the same school but in different areas. hes in sterling and I'm in forest. I've recently met him again and found out this information. i also found out hes dating someone in forest. when i met him again he seemed to avoid eye contact and also looked shy (like me). how do i know if someone really likes me and its not just a joke? how do i get someone to ask me out and mean it? how do i get one of these 2 guys to ask me out? from maddy

Dear Maddy,
Keep being friendly when you meet guys.  Allow for the fact that sometimes they are shy and nervous too (the eye contact thing).  When you go out with one, you'll be able to tell if he is serious, but at first you should just focus on having a good time and enjoying yourself.  How else can you get to know them and know their intentions.  If a guy is interested, he will make a move - but not if you cut him off at the pass.
