Question
"You should also share a bit with her about yourself so it doesn't seem like you're drilling her for information and that you have nothing in common, but try to talk a little bit more about her than yourself"

I STRONGLY agree with what you said. I used to talk a lot about myself and just go on and basically dominate the conversation. But then after i read that i should LISTEN more, i stopped talking about myself and just listen more attentively. lol, but yeah i like that tip a lot thanks :o)

Do you have any flirting tips for guys? I don't really know how to flirt, but i heard stuff liek complimenting, teasing her, acting cocky etc.

Do you personally have a favourite cologne you like on a guy? if so what is it? I know a lot of colognes out there but i just want to see your opinion. thanks!

Answer
Brian,

Flirting and cologne preferences vary a lot between individuals.

My husband is an intellectual (scientist, engineer), so he didn't flirt with me at all really, but the closest he did was the eye contact, smile, and eventually touching (hand holding to start). Everyone lies compliments, but it depends on how it's done - they need to sound sincere though it depends on the woman since some don't notice the lac of sincerity and like compliments about things like clothes and hair, etc. Teasing & acting cocky isn't flirting, IMO, but it's a way to loosen up the conversation and be playful in a different way - some women like it more than others. My husband teases through the use of sarcasm and it took me years to get used to it because I was criticized a lot as a kid and took the teasing seriously.

My husband doesn't wear cologne regularly, but has experimented with various fragrances over the years for special occasions. I think musk is a natural attractor for a good reason, but it should be used sparingly. Again, it's a matter of preference.

I hope that's helpful - now go read those web sites I recommended about personality types, which for long-term relationships is more important than cologne, and watch "Don Juan Demarco" which might give you some tips on flirting.

Expertise

I've been answering questions online for over a decade & have received good ratings. I've also helped people in many other situations - in person and in other ways online. Looking for a lifelong, loving relationship? I`ve been with the same partner for 30+ years and it's not just a coincidence. I've worked at it and the first part was to find the right man for me. I hope I can help you do the same.

Experience

My own marriage has worked out great, though it has taken work, I've learned a lot and continue to learn. I realize, though, that everyone is different and so is each relationship, so I enjoy observing others. I've also read a lot about the subject and know many couples - some who have made poor partner decisions and others who've maintained a lifelong relationship of love.

Education/Credentials
I am educated as a teacher and primarily work with young people, many who are already attracted to the opposite sex at a young age, but their families often are poor role-models for having a life-long relationship.
