hello susan m a 20yr old woman who really likes this guy in my college.we have common frens and got introduced to each other two months back.we meet in college frequently.he seems to be a really nice guy but just a few days back i came to know he still has feelings for one of his best frens from school who's already going out wid some other guy.he says he doesnt want to fall in love nor make a commitment rite now but he certainly wants me to be his good fren.m in a diliema i really like this guy n m scared of falling in love wid him n end up hurting myself inspite of knowing he loves somebody else.thats y i have decided to step back of the friendship.he has no idea bout my decision.do u think i have taken the right step?? i still like him

Yes I think you have taken the right step. Smart girl. Falling in love with a man who isn't available is very painful. It also wastes time, lowers your self-esteem, and can become a very bad habit. He told you point-blank he was not available. So don't double-think yourself on this one. Your instincts are right.
If he ends that other relationship and gets healed of it, well he knows how to get in touch with you.
It's smart to realize when "just friendship" is not going to work for you with a certain man, and to then get clear of it. Because it doesn't work. And if you plow ahead, you'll have no one else but yourself to blame.
Save yourself this sort of pain.
